Rachael Wesley

Rachael’s first concert was Paula Abdul. Since then, she’s seen over 1,000 shows. A proud former East Coaster, she now calls Denver home, where she’s spoiled by its thriving music scene. If she’s not at a show, she can be found hiking, with her nose in a book, or ogling all the doggies. Her creative nonfiction stories have been published by Insider, Denverse Magazine, Surrender to the Flow, and in various literary magazines. Her story Separating Passive From Aggressive, about her abortion, was nominated for the 2022 Pushcart Prize. SECOND SET CHANCES is her debut. She’s thankful every day for second chances and is always trying to make meaning in those signs from the Universe.

I’m trying to embrace middle age gracefully and and am finding certain things difficult. I’m still an extrovert (at least I think), but it now takes some effort to get me out of the house. I am, however, almost always down to see a band, get outside, or nerd out about books and music.

Disclaimer: I’ve grown more awkward with time. Sorry for the things I’ve said and done while sober. Thank god for the magic of editing written words; I’d never make it as an orator!

But please, reach out! My friends and family will confirm I’m a lovely human being!
